Abstract
Are oil refinery cooling towers unique? Or, are they the same as cooling towers found in other industries? What makes oil refinery cooling water treatment different than that found in the chemical treatment plant? What are the challenges faced in each industry? This article examines these and other questions as the author provides practical knowledge to help water professionals improve water treatment. In our last article in the May/June 2015 issue of Industrial Water Treatment, we discussed the steps and procedure needed to develop a basic cooling tower water treatment program.
