Abstract
In January 2007, this author wrote about the very successful installation and use of microfiltration (MF) for make-up water pretreatment at a coal-fired plant (1). In the 5 years since the MF system has been in operation at the plant, the unit has continued to demonstrate excellent reliability and operational ease. Now, plant personnel at other utilities are beginning to realize the viability of MF for make-up applications, but the technology is also being contemplated for other water applications within power stations.
