MICROFILTRATION MEMBRANES MUNICIPAL REVERSE OSMOSIS ULTRAVIOLET WASTEWATER WATER REUSE
Abstract
Around the world, many governments are learning and evaluating the challenges about critical water resources issues using repurified wastewater as a means to enhance their water supplies. Membrane treatment, along with appropriate pretreatment, is developing as the forerunner in treatment options for increasing water supplies. Brisbane, Australia, is just one example of a city that quickly needed to embrace solutions to severe drought conditions through the use of multiple cutting-edge water treatment technologies in Queensland. Lessons learned during design, piloting and full-scale operation of this project can be applied in other areas of the world that are facing water restrictions.
